Sony Adds E Ink Color To 10.3-Inch Digital Paper Model
Sony's Digital Paper ereader and ewriter Sony Digital Paper DPT-CP1 has now been launched as an optional E Ink color version too according to GoodEreader who covers these products.
I haven't seen any announcement of it from Sony yet though, and the only photos so far shows the Sony Digital Paper DPT-CP1 Version 2 in a video, still with demo stickers on it. Nevertheless, it is a color option of the original Sony Digital Paper DPT-CP1 that was launched in 2018.
It utilizes the new E Ink Kaleido 2.5 filter which at least gives the display 4096 colors. So still a long way away from the 16 million colors we have on a tablet display these days, but it's a start. It's also front lit with Glowlight like some of Amazon's ereaders.
The resolution is reported as 1872 x 1404, while it runs Android 9.0. It's also described as becoming compatible with more types of stylus pens, and not just Sony's pens.
