Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra: Embracing Curves and Shedding Weight
The tech world is excited as the first leaked renders of Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra have surfaced, courtesy of OnLeaks and Android Headlines.
Despite being over a quarter from its expected launch in early 2025, these images offer tantalizing hints at what's coming for Samsung's flagship device.
A Softer Approach to Design
The most striking change in the Galaxy S25 Ultra is its departure from the sharp, angular corners that have defined the Ultra series for years.
The new renders showcase a device with noticeably rounded edges, offering a more comfortable grip without sacrificing the phone's iconic silhouette.
Other notable design tweaks include:
- Thicker bezels around the rear cameras
- A completely flat frame, eliminating the slight curvature on the sides
- Rumors of a curved back panel meeting flat sides (though not visible in the renders)
Slimming Down
According to the leak, the S25 Ultra is set to shed some weight:
- Expected to weigh 219 grams (13 grams lighter than its predecessor)
- Slimmer profile at 8.2mm thick
- Narrower overall, thanks to thinner bezels
Under the Hood
While the exterior changes are grabbing headlines, the S25 Ultra's internals are also getting some attention:
- Likely to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip
- Upgraded 50MP ultrawide camera
- 5,000 mAh battery capacity (unchanged from previous models)
- 45W charging speed retained
Looking Ahead
With Samsung's recent track record of January launches for the Galaxy S series, it's reasonable to expect the S25 Ultra to debut in early 2025.
As always, these early leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, but they offer an intriguing glimpse into Samsung's vision for the future of smartphones.
