Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 today, their newest 11-inch flagship tablet. It’s taking pre-orders from $799, with the release date being August 11.

It replaces the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 with numerous improvements, even though the previous flagship tablets were already the best in class.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 (SM-X710) launches with the 3.36 GHz octa-core ‘Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy’ processor with ‘Qualcomm Adreno 740 with Ray Tracing’ GPU, together with model options of either 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS storage, or 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Depending on the market, there are also options of a 5G model, in addition to the Wi-Fi model.

There are also two color options, which are Beige or Graphite.
Samsung has finally brought back an AMOLED display to the 11-inch Tab S9 model which now has a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, and a display resolution of 2560 x 1600, using Dynamic AMOLED 2X and an Infinity panel. The screen is the best tablet screen on the market today, and even beats any iPad Pro.

And it even features a on-screen fingerprint reader you can use to log in with. The new screen is also HDR10+ certified.
The tablet cameras on the 11-inch S9 model are a 12MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera. There are also IR face recognition on the front.
It ships with Android 13 as well as the user interface One UI 5.1.1, and has 3 years of free Android updates.
A huge upgrade is that this tablet now has an IP68 dust and waterproof rating, so both the tablet and the pen will withstand both rain and dropping them in water.
The new S Pen has magnetic attachment and wireless charging from the back of the tablet.
The four AKG speakers are also 20% larger than on the predecessor, which already had a full sound. They also have Dolby Atmos. Despite the larger speakers, the tablet is still very thin, with a thickness of just 5.84mm while weighing 498 grams.

As for Tab S9 battery life, this is 15 hours long, from a 8400 mAh battery with 45W charging.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 also has specifications such as the latest dual-band Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB C 3.2 Gen 1 port.
In some cases the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is sold with the Samsung S Pen digitizer included, but this varies from market to market.
Other official accessories by Samsung for the Tab S9 includes a Book Cover Keyboard, Book Cover Keyboard Slim, Smart Book Cover, Outdoor Cover, Notepaper Screen, and a Privacy Screen.
So Samsung takes the performance lead again, and the only other 11-inch Android tablet that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 can be compared to at this level, is the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro.
But Samsung wins in term of speed and power, support, the new OLED screen, as well as versatility with the waterproofing and all the new tablet accessories.
