Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Rumored To Feature IP67 Waterproof Design
The Samsung followers over at Sammobile have been told that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 tablets may become waterproof.
At the time of the writing, this is said to be a feature that Samsung is thinking about placing on the Tab S9 series, but it's not set in stone yet, and there's been no leak that has shown any evidence of an IP67 rating on these tablets.
Nothing else is known about the Tab S9 tablets at this point either for that matter.
IP67 is the threshold where a product goes from merely being water resistant under IP66, to actually becoming waterproof.
The level of waterproofness will still vary within IP67 though, as it can mean the ability to withstand water while submerged in water between 15cm to 1m for a set period of time.
At IP68, it can withstand some pressure for a longer period of time too. Samsung already has as much as 14 different series of IP68 waterproof smartphones on the market, including the newest Galaxy S23 flagship series.
The only waterproof tablets Samsung has on the market though are the rugged Tab Active tablets, such as the 8-inch IP68 rated Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3, seen here.
