Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 2016 Rebranding With New CPU And GPU
Ahead of the IFA trade show in Berlin in September, Samsung is starting a rebranding of the New Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 with the new CPU and GPU by officially calling the models Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (2016, 9.7”) Wi-Fi, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (2016, 9.7″) 4G+, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (2016, 8.0”) Wi-Fi, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (2016, 8.0″) 4G+:

This will distinguish them more from the first Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablets launched last year with a different CPU, GPU, and the previous Android version.
Along with more streamlined model names for Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 2016 that follows the model name policy of other Samsung tablets launched this year, Samsung is both creating new marketing campaigns for the new Tab S2 tablets that emphasize its features better than before, and Samsung is about to roll out some very colorful and distinctive new images for the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 2016, fitting for the Super AMOLED display.
But these are still the same Tab S2 models that were updated in May 2016, who carry the model numbers
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (2016, 9.7”) Wi-Fi (SM-T813)
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (2016, 9.7″) 4G+ (SM-T819)
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (2016, 8.0”) Wi-Fi (SM-T713)
Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 (2016, 8.0″) 4G+ (SM-T719)
So these are in effect the “Samsung Galaxy Tab S3” models that have been rumored. And to date there have been absolutely zero leaks for any other Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 tablets this year, despite what some dubious sites claim. And it has never happened that a Samsung tablet have not leaked months in advance.
All the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 2016 models are powered by a powerful octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 (aka 620) processor. Normally a Wi-Fi version and a cellular version of the same tablet will feature different processors, but that's not the case with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 2016, where all models are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 (aka 620) processor, but where the 8-inch and 9.7-inch 4G LTE models also have an additional cellular Qualcomm X8 LTE Modem built into the chipset. But other than that, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processors are completely identical, only the processor model names are different, where the internal model number for the 4G LTE chipset is MSM8976, while the internal model number for the chipset version used in the Wi-Fi version is APQ8076.
