Samsung Chromebook Plus (V2) Release June 24
Samsung announced that their new Samsung Chromebook Plus (V2) will be released on Samsung and Best Buy on June 24. The new Samsung Chromebook Plus (V2) has some new specs while also having been given a small design overhaul.
The predecessor Samsung Chromebook Plus was launched in January 2017 for $449, while the new Samsung Chromebook Plus 2018-2019 model is launched for $499.
Samsung Chromebook Plus (V2) is a Chrome OS 360-degree convertible with touchscreen and digitizer pen. It now has a smaller 12.2-inch screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution and 300 nits brightness. The Samsung S pen is integrated on the side of the convertible, with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
Samsung's new Chromebook is powered by a Intel Celeron 3965Y processor, with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and still just 32GB of storage, though this is a cloud computer more than anything else.
Other specs are typical laptop specs, with a 1.5W stereo speakers, 2×2 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi support, 2x USB Type-C port, 1x USB 3.0 port. And while it has a 13MP camera and 1MP front webcam, the 13MP camera is actually placed above the keys on the keyboard.
The design is much less square and much rounder than an average laptop, as it somewhat resembles two tablets on top of each other when closed. It has a 39Wh battery and weighs 2.93 lbs or grams.
