Samsung Ativ Book 9 Spin & Ativ Book 9 Pro Announced
Samsung announced two new Windows 10 devices today, with the 13.3-inch Samsung Ativ Book 9 Spin, a laptop with a 360 degree spinning touchscreen, and the new 2016 edition Samsung Ative Book 9 Pro, a 15.6-inch laptop with 4K display and touchscreen.
Samsung Ativ Book 9 Spin
The 13.3-inch Samsung Ativ Book 9 Spin is a new computer from Samsung which closely resembles the Lenovo Yoga 900-13 (the newest “Lenovo Yoga 4 Pro”). It will be launched in November says Samsung for $1,399.
The 13.3-inch screen has a resolution of 3200 x 1800, which is the same as the Lenovo Yoga, and almost the same as the 3000 x 2000 resolution of the Microsoft Surface Book. The screen will flip around, but won't detach from the computer. But it can be set up in tent mode, like a typical 2-in-1.
It runs Windows 10 Home, while being powered by a Intel Core i7 Processor (6500U) with Intel HD Graphics 520 GPU, and have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage plus microSD card expansion. With a weight of 1302 grams, it weighs approximately 550 grams more than a Surface Book, so it's definitely not a tablet.
But Ativ Book 9 Spin features two 2 watt speakers, a 1.3MP front camera, dual-antenna and dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, 3x USB 3.0 ports, and a backlit keyboard. Samsung rates the battery life to 7.3 hours based on MobileMark 2014.

Samsung Ativ Book 9 Pro
The larger 15.6-inch Samsung Ativ Book 9 Pro does feature a touchscreen, but other than that it has no tablet-like properties and the screen won't rotate the way it does on the Ativ Book 9 Spin.
But it has 4K resolution! So that gives the 15.6-inch screen a resolution of 3840 x 2160, so now all 4K GoPro camera owners finally have a good mainstream Windows 10 laptop to use for their action shots.
It will launch in November too says Samsung for $1,599, and that's with a Intel Core i7 (6700HQ) processor, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M Graphics GPU with 2GB DDR5 RAM itself to power that beast of a screen.
It has 4 speakers, or quad-speakers if you will, at 2 watt all four of them. It otherwise has the same 1.3MP front camera, complete Wi-Fi cover, Bluetooth 4.1, USB ports, and backlit keyboard as the Ativ Book 9 Spin, but also has an additional USB 3.1. Type C port, and a 4K HDMI output port.
It weighs 2018 grams and has a 6.5 hour battery life, and this is also based on MobileMark 2014 according to Samsung. The battery capacity should be large then.
