6.8-Inch AMOLED Gaming Tablet Razer Edge Launch January 26 – Here Are The Benchmarks
Razer will finally launch their second generation Razer Edge gaming tablet this week, as the official launch date is Thursday, January 26.
The new Razer Edge 2023 is a very portable 6.8-inch Android tablet, whereas the predecessor was a 10.1-inch Windows tablet with controllers on the sides of it.
There are two versions launching. In the US, the Razer Edge 5G will launch for $599 through Verizon. This model is the one that's been available for reservation up until recently.
But a cheaper Wi-Fi version will launch from Razer for $399 too with Wi-Fi 6E and BT 5.2, and this will probably become the bestseller, even though 5G is quite popular among gaming handhelds.
Main specs for both versions of Razer Edge includes a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD resolution of 2400 x 1800, and a 144 Hz refresh rate.
Powering this gaming tablet is the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 chipset running at up to 3.0 GHz, with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, with support for 2TB microSD cards.
The new Razer Edge has been properly tested by dedicated gamers for three months now, and (Razer Edge 2023 RZ45) has delivered Geekbench 5 benchmark scores typically around 1160 in single-core, and over 3600 in multi-core scores.
That's not setting any new records for a gaming device, but it may strike a good balance between gaming performance, the pleasure of using it, price, and battery life all at once.
So for a very portable gaming tablet on the go, the balance between all these factors seems appropriate.
