I found the image quality on the LG G Pad x2 to be decent, if not as sharp as an Apple Retina display. The 5 megapixel front and rear cameras provide adequate photo quality, though I likely won't use the cameras much on a tablet. - itsKingRick |

I appreciated the full size USB port to connect a flash drive for extra storage. The display quality seemed decent, if not as sharp as Apple's Retina screens. The camera is probably not something I'll use much. With an octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM, performance seems smooth when switching between and running apps. - Kareem Nesbey |

Pros: - Full size USB port for extra storage - Good performance with octa-core processor and 2GB RAM - Useful multi-window and overlay apps Cons: - Display not as sharp - Camera quality probably not great - Battery life only 1-1.5 days with light usage |
The overall rating is based on review by our dedicated team and users.
LG released an updated version of their mid-range Android tablet, the G Pad x2.
This new tablet aims to provide a portable media consumption device with enough power and features to multitask efficiently.
The G Pad x2 comes equipped with an 8-inch 1920 x 1200 full HD display.
While not as sharp as an Apple Retina display, the screen still produces decent image quality that works well for streaming videos and browsing the web.
Processing is handled by a capable octa-core 1.4GHz chipset and 2GB RAM, delivering smooth performance when using multiple apps thanks to Android 7.0.
One handy feature for drivers is the ability to run dual apps side-by-side, courtesy of the split screen mode.
This allows glancing at Google Maps while playing music, for example. LG also developed an overlay app to quickly launch a floating calculator or calendar without exiting current apps.
These additions demonstrate the versatility provided beyond standard media features.
The tablet ships with 32GB internal storage, but the full-size USB port allows easily connecting flash drives for added external storage.
This makes managing media libraries simpler since internal capacity remains available.
High-resolution rear and front cameras are included but image quality is adequate for occasional use, not on par with smartphones.
Battery life is also middling at 1-1.5 days of mixed usage.
An accessory speaker dock significantly boosts audio volume and quality over the built-in speaker.
The dock also props up the tablet, working as a convenient kickstand for hands-free viewing.
With the dock, the G Pad x2 becomes a portable entertainment unit.
Overall, the mid-range LG G Pad x2 provides a capable Android tablet focused on media consumption and light multitasking.
The addition of multi-window apps and floating overlay apps demonstrate LG's attempt to add productivity features beyond video watching or web browsing.
For consumers needing an affordable jack-of-all-trades tablet, the G Pad x2 warrants consideration.
