Reviews

User Reviews 1 User Reviews I found the Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite has excellent build quality with a nice 10.1-inch screen and competitive pricing. However, I experienced some lag with user interface actions. The screen was also very slippery affecting my drawing. Palm rejection did not always work perfectly resulting in stray lines in my artwork.
- Teoh Yi Chie
User Reviews 2 I really like the fingerprint sensor for easy unlocking. The quad speakers tuned by Harman Kardon provide decent audio. Performance is generally snappy thanks to the Kirin 659 chipset, though some lag in intensive 3D games.
- Hands-On Tech
User Reviews 3 The display is fairly bright with good viewing angles but lacks clarity compared to premium tablets. Performance is generally smooth though the EMUI skin seems a bit outdated and choppy at times. The included M-Pen stylus is a nice surprise - it feels sturdy like a real pen and works well for note taking with handy gestures. Battery life is also a plus with the large 7500mAh capacity and fast charging.

Huawei has released an affordable 10-inch Android tablet, the MediaPad M5 Lite. This tablet aims to deliver a quality media consumption experience and basic drawing functionality at a budget price point.

The MediaPad M5 Lite sports an aluminum unibody design that looks and feels premium, albeit with some creaking when twisted.

Its 10.1-inch 1920×1200 IPS display renders video cleanly, although it lacks the clarity and brightness of more expensive tablets.

Powering the experience is a capable Kirin 659 chipset and 3/4GB RAM, delivering smooth performance for web browsing and video streaming.

Some stuttering occurs when pushing the tablet to its limits in 3D games, but overall responsiveness meets expectations given the cost.

On the media side, the MediaPad impresses with loud, quality sound from its four Harman Kardon-tuned speakers.

The stereo audio shines whether you’re listening to Spotify or watching YouTube. Battery life also hits the right notes, with a robust 7500mAh capacity providing all-day video and web use.

Drawing and notes get a boost from the included M-Pen stylus. The stylus offers solid pressure sensitivity, although palm rejection falters at times.

For basic sketching and note-taking, it adds nice functionality suiting students on a budget. Via a dedicated microSD slot, internal storage can be cheaply expanded up to 256GB.

In all, buyers looking for an affordable media tablet with solid speakers, sharp screen, and bonus stylus support need not look further than the feature-packed MediaPad M5 Lite.

Despite some durability and interface concerns, Huawei’s latest tablet delivers strong value and utility for media consumption, web browsing, light gaming, and basic creativity.
