I like features of the tablet like the metal unibody design, 2K IPS LCD display, USB Type-C charging, and overall good specs including an octa-core Snapdragon processor and 3GB of RAM. - Finski Motors |

The battery life remains excellent, lasting nearly a week on a single charge with light usage. The screen is vibrant and high resolution. The front camera is just okay, as expected for a cheaper tablet. Speakers could be louder and would benefit from a front-facing position. Overall though, I have a positive experience with smooth performance for media, web browsing, etc. - ReviewsAboutAnything |

Pros: - Good performance with octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor - Vibrant 2K IPS LCD display with high 324 PPI pixel density - microSD card slot for memory expansion Cons: - Mediocre camera quality - Software is customizable but clunky with some gimmicky features - No waterproofing or wireless charging |
The overall rating is based on review by our dedicated team and users.
Asus has added another affordable option to the Android tablet market with the release of the Zenpad Z8s.
This 7.9-inch slate aims to deliver solid performance and features without the high price tag of premium options.
Touts Gorgeous Display and Strong Battery Life
One of the Zenpad Z8s's standout features is its 7.9-inch 2K display, which offers a sharp resolution of 2048×1536 pixels on an IPS LCD panel resulting in a dense 324 PPI pixel density.
Visuals look vibrant and detailed thanks to technologies like Asus TruVivid and Tru2Life+.
The tablet also packs an ample 4680 mAh battery that lasted nearly a week during our testing with light usage.
Delivers Smooth All-Around Performance
Despite a mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, our experience was generally smooth when browsing the web, streaming media, and using apps.
The octa-core chip is aided by 3GB of RAM and handled casual games decently as well.
Storage is somewhat limited at 16GB but can be expanded via microSD card.
Design Gets the Job Done
An aluminum rear and glass front give the Zenpad Z8s a premium look, although build quality could be better with some creaking and stiff buttons.
At 306 grams, it offers a lightweight and portable form factor that’s easy to use one-handed.
While not the sleekest tablet, its 6.9mm thickness is respectable.
Capable Cameras and Customizable Software
The Zenpad Z8s packs average 5MP front and 13MP rear cameras. Photos and videos are nothing special but get the job done for occasional shots.
Asus's ZenUI software overlay brings extensive customization options but its gimmicky features prove more cumbersome than useful.
Still, Android 7.0 Nougat provides a familiar experience.
Affordable Tablet Well-Suited for Media Consumption
For those seeking an Android tablet focused on entertainment and casual use, the Asus Zenpad Z8s packs strong visuals, smooth performance, and long battery life at an accessible price point.
With compromises in camera and software, it doesn’t aim to compete with the iPad Pro’s and Galaxy Tab S’s.
Nonetheless, the Z8s still brings plenty to like as a cost-friendly option for web browsing, streaming shows, and simple games.
