Kyocera Qua Tab 01 Launching July 24
The first Kyocera Qua Tab 01 tablet is launching tomorrow on July 24th in Japan. And like any self-respecting tablet from Japan it is of course waterproof, just like the tablets from Sony, Sharp, and Fujitsu usually are.
Qua Tab 01 is an 8-inch 1920 × 1200 resolution Android 5.1 tablet with 4G LTE that is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, has 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage with 128GB of microSD card support.
It has complete 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi cover, and even Bluetooth version 4.1. The cameras on this tablet are a 2MP front camera and a 5MP rear camera, while it also has stereo speakers. The battery capacity is 4000 mAh, enough for just over 8 hours of use.
It's 7.9 mm thick and weighs 286 grams. So all in all this tablet has specs that are above average for an 8-inch Android tablet.
As a feature, the tablet can be used to send and receive phone calls and messages to if you pair or synch it with your smartphone. This is similar to what we have seen on the LG G Pad tablets as well as on many Samsung tablets (the SideSync feature) the last year and a half. Even the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 has that feature.
