IP68 Rugged Tablet Oukitel RT5 With Android 13 Launch In The Middle Of June For $199
Oukitel will launch a new rugged 10.1-inch Android tablet soon. The tablet is the Oukitel RT5, which will premiere on AliExpress for $199 on June 12th, with launch on June 19th.
This is a rugged Android tablet that's intended for the consumer market, unlike most of the rugged tablets on the market which are geared more towards the industrial and enterprise market.
It runs a stock Android 13, and has a 10.1-inch screen with a Full HD resolution of 1900 x 1200. And the touchscreen is supposed to react to touch even with certain types of gloves on.
It's considered a fully sealed tablet, so the rugged rating is IP68 on the waterproof side, IP69 on the dustproof side, and it's even deemed drop proof to 1.5m too.
The processor is an octa-core 2.0 GHz MediaTek MT8788 ‘Helio P60' CPU, with 8GB LPDDR4 RAM, and 256GB storage with 1TB microSD card support.
Despite a 10,000 mAh battery, the battery life is just 7.5 hours long. Which is manageable, but I was expecting a longer battery life than that.
Other specs includes Wi-Fi 5, 4G LTE, 16MP Samsung front and rear cameras, stereo speakers, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo navigation sensors.
The tablet is 14.5mm thick, which may be almost two times as much as the thinnest tablets from Samsung, Apple, and Lenovo, but for a rugged tablet that's supposed to be drop proof from 1.5m, that's pretty good.
