How to Wake and Lock iPhone Without Power Button
We all rely on our iPhone's power button to quickly lock the device when we're finished using it. But what do you do if the power button stops working? Don't worry, there are a few workarounds that can help you wake up and lock your iPhone without touching the power button.
Wake iPhone Without Power Button
To wake up your iPhone without using the power button, you have a couple of options:
1. Raise to Wake
Enabling the “Raise to Wake” feature allows you to simply raise your iPhone to view all the notifications on the lock screen. To enable this feature, go to Settings > Display & Brightness and turn on Raise to Wake. Now, whenever you raise your iPhone, the screen will automatically wake up.
2. Tap to Wake
“Tap to Wake” is another feature that allows you to wake up your iPhone without using the power button. To enable this feature, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch and toggle on Tap to Wake. With this feature enabled, you can simply tap on the screen to wake it up.
Lock iPhone Without Power Button
If your iPhone's power button is not working, there are alternative ways to lock the device:
1. Double Tap on the Back to Lock
If your iPhone is running iOS 14 or later, you can use the “Back Tap” feature to lock the device by double-tapping on the back of the iPhone. To set it up, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap. Tap on Double Tap and select Lock Screen. Now, double-tapping on the back of your iPhone will lock the screen.
2. Lock Using AssistiveTouch
AssistiveTouch is a useful accessibility feature that provides a range of functionalities, including locking your iPhone. To enable AssistiveTouch, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch and toggle on AssistiveTouch. A circular floating button will appear on your screen. Tap the ball, select Device, and then tap Lock Screen to lock your iPhone.
3. Lock the iPhone Automatically
If you prefer a more hands-off approach, you can set your iPhone to lock automatically after a certain period of inactivity. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock and choose the desired duration. The iPhone will lock itself after the selected time of inactivity.
With these alternative methods, you can still wake up and lock your iPhone even if the power button is not working. Take advantage of these settings and continue using your iPhone seamlessly, as if nothing happened to the power button.
