How to Use WhatsApp on Two Phones Simultaneously
Did you know that you can now use the same WhatsApp account on two phones? That's right, with the latest WhatsApp update, you can link your account on both your primary and secondary phones, or even a phone and a tablet. In this article, we'll show you how to set it up and start using WhatsApp on multiple devices.
Using the Same WhatsApp Account on Two Phones
Linking your WhatsApp account on two phones is now possible. Whether you want to use it on a phone and a tablet or on two phones, here's how you can make it happen.
How to Use the Same WhatsApp Account on Two Phones
Before we get started, please note that this method only works if your secondary phone is an Android device. Your primary phone can be either Android or iOS.
-
Take your secondary Android phone and go to Settings > About Phone > Software information or Software info. Tap on the Build number option 7 times to enable Developer options on your phone.
-
Go back to the main Settings page and open Developer options. On some Android phones, you may need to select System and then Developer options.
-
In the Developer options page, scroll down and select the Minimum width option. On some Android phones, it might be called Smallest width.
-
Note the default dp value, which is usually 411 dp. Then, change the dp to 600 or higher and tap OK.
-
Changing the minimum width to 600 will make your phone's UI mimic a tablet, making everything appear smaller on the screen. Don't worry, you can revert to the normal view once the setup is complete.
-
Install WhatsApp from the Play Store on your secondary phone or ensure that it is updated to the latest version if already installed.
-
Open WhatsApp and select your language, then tap on Agree and Continue. A QR Code will appear on the screen.
-
If the QR Code doesn't appear, tap on the three-dot menu at the top right and select Link a device.
-
Now, open your primary phone, whether it's Android or iOS. On Android, open WhatsApp, tap on the three-dot menu, and select Linked devices.
-
Tap on Link a device and scan the QR Code displayed on your secondary phone.
-
If your WhatsApp account is on an iPhone, open WhatsApp, go to Settings, and tap on Linked Devices.
-
Select Link a device and scan the QR Code displayed on your secondary phone.
That's it! You now have the same WhatsApp account on both your primary and secondary phones. The recent update allows you to use WhatsApp on multiple devices without keeping your primary phone online.
To revert to the normal view, go to Settings > Developer options > Minimum width and change it back to the default dp value you noted earlier (usually 411).
WhatsApp on Two Phones
You can use the same WhatsApp account on two phones, regardless of whether you use Android or iOS as your primary phone. However, please note that you cannot use an iPhone as your secondary phone, as you cannot change its dp value to mimic a tablet's UI. Instead, consider using an iPad or an Android tablet as your secondary device.
Enjoy using WhatsApp on multiple devices and stay connected with your friends and family seamlessly. Also, don't forget to check out the new feature called WhatsApp Communities, which allows you to combine multiple WhatsApp groups into a single large community.
