Connecting Spotify with PS5

Spotify is officially available on PS5 and seamlessly integrates with the console. To get started, download the Spotify app on your PS5 and log in with your Spotify credentials.

Before proceeding, it's important to note that PS5 supports Spotify only in certain countries. Make sure to check the list of supported countries before setting up Spotify on your PS5.

  1. Download Spotify: Power up your PS5, log in to your PS account, and navigate to the “All Apps” button under Media. From the list of options, select “Spotify” and press the X button on your controller to start the download. Once the download is complete, open the app.

  2. Log into Your Spotify Account: To log in, you can either use the traditional method of entering your email address and password or opt for the seamless smartphone method. If you choose the smartphone method, open the Spotify app on your phone, play a song, and tap the “Listening On” button at the bottom left of the app. From the list of devices, select “PS5” and confirm the prompt on your PS5.

That's it! Spotify will now be logged in with your credentials on the PS5, giving you access to your playlists, liked songs, and the entire Spotify library. The app interface on PS5 resembles that of Android TV, allowing you to easily navigate through playlists, discover artists, and enjoy music while gaming.

To play your favorite Spotify playlists while gaming on PS5, follow these steps:

  1. Press the PS button once to bring up the Quick Menu (Note: Unlike PS4, pressing the PS button once does not take you to the Home Screen anymore. You need to press and hold the PS button to go to the Home Screen).

  2. Use the D-Pad to scroll to the Music button on the bottom row of items and press it to open the Spotify menu.

  3. Find your favorite playlist and start playing the songs on your PS5 using Spotify.

  4. To return to your game, press the PS button again, and the music will continue to stream while you play.
