How to Stop Samsung TV From Auto-Playing Video Preview
Do you find it annoying when your Samsung smart TV automatically starts playing content from Samsung TV Plus every time you turn it on or go to the home screen? It can be quite frustrating to have random movies and shows playing without your consent. But don't worry, there are ways to stop your Samsung TV from automatically playing. Let's explore different methods to turn off autoplay on your Samsung TV.
1. By Turning off Autorun Last App
The main culprit behind the automatic video playback on Samsung TV is the Samsung TV Plus app. To stop this, you can either disable the Samsung TV Plus app or turn off the autoplay feature for the last used app, which is often the Samsung TV Plus app itself. Here's how you can do it:
- Open the Settings on your Samsung Smart TV.
- Navigate to General > Smart Features.
- Find and select Autorun Last App, then disable it by pressing the Enter or Ok button on your remote.
- Restart your TV by either unplugging it from the power supply for 60 seconds and reconnecting it, or by holding the Power button until you see the Samsung logo on the screen.
2. By Disabling Samsung TV Plus App
If turning off autorun doesn't solve the issue, you can disable the Samsung TV Plus app on your Samsung Smart TV. Keep in mind that once you disable the app, you won't be able to use it unless you re-enable it. Here's how you can disable the Samsung TV Plus app:
- Press the Home button on your TV remote to go to the main screen.
- Locate the Samsung TV Plus app icon in the bottom panel.
- Press and hold the Enter or Ok button on your remote until a menu appears, then select Remove.
- Note: If long-pressing the Enter button doesn't bring up the menu, try pressing the Down button on the remote.
- On the Remove screen, select the Disable button.
- Note: Pressing the Remove button will only remove the app from the home screen.
If you decide to add the Samsung TV Plus app back, go to Sources > TV, press the Up button on your remote, and select Add to home. If Samsung TV Plus is disabled in your country, you can learn how to get it in any country.

3. By Deleting All Samsung TV Plus Channels
If you're unable to disable the Samsung TV Plus app, there's another workaround to stop automatic playback on your Samsung TV. You can manually delete all the Samsung TV Plus channels. Here's how:
- Press the Home button on your TV remote.
- Go to Samsung TV Plus and select Channel List.
- Navigate to Edit Channels.
- Check the box next to Select all and hit the Delete button. Confirm your selection on the next screen.
By deleting all the channels, the Samsung TV Plus app icon will also be removed from the home screen. With no channels available, your TV will no longer play random videos automatically.
