How to Keep Your Amazon Browsing History Private and Archive Orders
Amazon is a vast marketplace where you can find almost anything you need. However, sometimes you may want to keep your browsing history and order records private, especially from your family members or spouse. Fortunately, Amazon provides easy ways to archive your orders and protect your privacy. In this article, we will guide you through the process of archiving orders and hiding your browsing history on both desktop and mobile devices.
How to Archive Amazon Orders
Archiving your orders on Amazon is a straightforward process. Please note that you can only archive orders on Amazon's website and not on its mobile apps. However, you can still use a mobile browser in desktop mode to achieve this.
-
Open Amazon and go to “Your Orders” under “Account & Lists.” Alternatively, you can directly visit the Your Orders page.
-
Find the order you want to archive and click on the “Archive order” button.
-
You can use the search bar or the dropdown menu to search for orders by year or purchase. Once you find the order you're looking for, simply click on the “Archive order” button.
-
Confirm your decision by clicking on the “Archive order” button again when prompted.
How to Unarchive Amazon Orders
If you need to view or unarchive your archived orders, follow these steps:
-
Visit the Archive order page on Amazon or go back to the “Your Orders” page.
-
Click on the year drop-down menu and select “Archived Orders” at the bottom of the list.
-
Locate the order you want to unarchive and click on “Unarchive Order” to restore it to the regular order list.
How to Hide/Disable Amazon Browsing History
Apart from archiving orders, you may also want to hide or disable your Amazon browsing history to maintain your privacy. Here's how you can do it on both desktop and mobile devices.
Desktop
-
Hover your mouse over “Account and Lists” to find “Browsing History.” If you can't find it there, select “Your Account.”
-
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “View or edit your browsing history.”
-
Click on the “Remove from view” button below each item you want to remove from your browsing history.
-
To manage your history further, click on “Manage history.” From here, you can choose to remove all items or turn browsing history on/off.
Mobile
-
Tap on the profile icon to view your profile options, then tap on “Browsing history.”
-
Tap on “Remove from view” to remove specific items from your browsing history. You can also expand “Manage history” to remove all items or turn browsing history on/off.
