How to Install Android Apps on Amazfit Pace/Verge/Stratos
Amazfit watches, like the Verge, Pace, and Stratos, run on AmazfitOS, which is based on Android. While they don't officially support app installation like Apple Watch or Android watches, there is a workaround. By following a simple process, you can sideload and run Android apps on these watches.
Installing AmazMod Services
To begin, you need to install the AmazMod services app on your watch. This app acts as a launcher for sideloaded APKs and provides additional shortcuts and utilities. You can install the AmazMod services through ADB, but it's recommended to use the Windows AmazMod Installer Utility for a simpler process.
Connect your watch to your computer using the charger provided, and follow the instructions on the app to download and install the AmazMod services APK. This may take some time, so be patient. Once the installation is complete, your Amazfit watch will reboot.
Now, you can access the AmazMod launcher screen by swiping left on your watch. This screen allows you to access your third-party installed apps and internal files.
Using ADB for App Installation
Before proceeding with app installation, ensure that ADB is installed on your computer. If you haven't installed it yet, you can find a quick guide on how to install ADB on Windows 10.
Each Amazfit watch is based on a different Android version and API level, so you need to download APKs accordingly. To find out the Android version and API level of your watch, use the following command in ADB:
adb shell getprop ro.build.version.release - android version
adb shell getprop ro.build.version.sdk - API level
Based on the Android version and API level, download the appropriate wear OS APK file. For example, if your watch supports Android version 5+ and API level 22+, you should download an APK that is compatible with these specifications.
To install the app, use the following command in ADB:
adb install AmazingMusic.apk
Replace “AmazingMusic.apk” with the location of your APK file. Once the installation is complete, you can access the app through the AmazMod launcher on your watch.
In case the app doesn't show up, try restarting your Amazfit watch.
Uninstalling AmazMod Services
If you encounter any issues or want to uninstall the AmazMod app, you can do so by connecting your watch to your computer and launching the AmazMod Windows Utility. Select the option to “Uninstall AmazMod service from your watch.”
