How to Enable/Disable Animated Album Art in Apple Music

A few years ago, Apple introduced animated cover art for Apple Music. With the release of iOS 17, there are many new features and changes, including animated album art. While some Apple Music users may enjoy this feature, others may find it distracting or want to conserve data. Thankfully, it's easy to disable or enable animated album art in Apple Music.

Enable/Disable Animated Album Art in Apple Music

Disabling animated album art will also disable cover art that you see outside of the Now Playing section in Apple Music.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Music.
  3. Tap on Animated Art.
  4. You will see three options:
    • On: Animated album art will be enabled and downloaded on both cellular data and Wi-Fi.
    • Wi-Fi Only: Animated album art will be downloaded only when your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
    • Off: Animated album art will not be downloaded.
