Instagram has made it easier than ever to edit individual video clips in Reels. With the latest updates, you can now reorder, trim, or delete clips in your Reels on both Android and iPhone.
How to Reorder Clips in Instagram Reels
To reorder clips in your Instagram Reels, follow these simple steps:
- Open the Instagram app on your phone.
- Tap on the “+” icon at the top and select Reel from the list.
- Start recording your clips by tapping on the Shutter icon. Tap again to stop recording. You can also add text or music to your Reel.
- Once you're done recording, tap on the Preview or Next button.
- You will see the Edit Clips button. Tap on it to enter the editing mode.
- Tap on the Reorder button and touch and hold the clip you want to move. Drag it to its new position.
- You can also move clips without pressing the Reorder button. Simply long press the clip until the remove icon (-) appears. Then, move the clip wherever you want.
How to Trim a Clip in Instagram Reels
Sometimes, you may want to trim a clip to remove unwanted parts or adjust its length. Here's how you can do it:
- Follow steps 1-5 from the above method to enter the editing mode.
- Once in the editing mode, tap on the clip you want to trim.
- Touch and hold the box on the left or right edge of the clip and drag it inwards to select the part you want to keep.
- Tap on All clips to go back and trim other clips in your Reel.
How to Delete Clips From Instagram Reel
If you're not satisfied with certain clips in your Reel, you can easily delete them. Here's how:
- Follow steps 1-5 from the Reorder Clips method to enter the editing mode.
- Touch and hold any one of the clips.
- Tap on the remove icon (-) on the clip you want to delete and confirm by tapping on Discard.
- Alternatively, you can tap on the Reorder button and tap on the remove icon on the clip you want to delete.
- You can also directly tap on the clip and hit the Delete button.
How to Add More Clips to Your Instagram Reel
If you want to add more clips to your Reel, simply tap on the Add clips button in the editing mode. Start recording the additional clip and follow the same steps as before to reorder, trim, or delete clips.
