How to Easily Set the Time on Your Fitbit

Fitbit is a great fitness band, but one thing it should always get right is the time. Usually, when you sync your Fitbit with your phone, it automatically shows the correct time. It can even adjust the time accurately when you're traveling. However, sometimes the time on your Fitbit may be off. Don't worry, there's a simple fix that you can apply using your phone or laptop. Here's how you can set the time on your Fitbit.

How to Set the Time on Fitbit Using Your Mobile

Before you start, ensure that your Fitbit is connected to your phone using the Fitbit app.

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the profile icon at the top left corner. Here, you should see your Fitbit device. If not, you need to connect your Fitbit to your account.
  2. If the device is available, tap on the App Settings option under the Settings section on the same page.
  3. On the next page, make sure the Automatic time zone toggle is turned on. Alternatively, you can set the time zone manually by toggling off the automatic time zone and selecting the time zone of your choice.
  4. Once done, go back to the Account page and tap on the Fitbit device.
  5. On the next page, tap on the Sync Now option to sync the time and other details between your Fitbit and your phone.

How to Set the Time on Fitbit Using Your Desktop

Apart from your phone, you can also use the Fitbit website to set the time on your Fitbit device.

  1. Open Fitbit.com on your desktop or laptop browser and click on the Account icon at the top right. Log in with your Fitbit account that is connected to your Fitbit device.
  2. Once logged in, click on the Account icon again and select the My Dashboard option from the drop-down menu.
  3. This will open your Fitbit account dashboard. Click on the Cog icon at the top right corner, and you'll see your Fitbit device in the drop-down menu. Click on the Settings option under the device.
  4. In the Settings, on the Personal info page, scroll down to the Timezone option.
  5. Click on it and select the time zone manually. On the desktop or laptop, you cannot set Fitbit to automatically update the time zone.

Please note that there is no way to manually trigger the sync from the computer. However, the new time and time zone that you have set will sync to your Fitbit device within a few minutes.

So, while you cannot change the time directly on the Fitbit device itself, you can easily log in to your Fitbit account on your phone or the web app to change and set the time. On the phone, you can sync instantly, while on the website, you may have to wait a few minutes for the sync to happen in the background.
