How to Easily Record WhatsApp Video Calls on Android and iPhone
We all love capturing special moments, even during WhatsApp video calls. If you want to preserve these memories as if they were happening in real life, here's a simple guide on how to record WhatsApp video calls on both Android and iOS. Just remember, it's important to obtain the other person's consent before recording, as recording without consent may infringe on their privacy and even be illegal in some countries.
Recording WhatsApp Video Calls on iPhone
Recording WhatsApp video calls on an iPhone is a breeze, thanks to the native screen recording feature. Just follow these easy steps:
-
Open the Control Center on your iPhone. If you can't find the screen recording option, go to the Settings app > Control Center, scroll down, and tap on the plus icon next to Screen Recording.
-
Once you have added the screen recording option, open the Control Center again and tap on the Screen Recording icon.
-
The screen will start recording in 3 seconds. Now, open WhatsApp and make your video call. You'll know that the call is being recorded when you see the recording icon in the status bar at the top.
-
To stop recording, open the Control Center once more and tap on the Screen Recording icon.
-
You can find the recorded video file in the Apple Photos app.
Recording WhatsApp Video Calls on Android
Like iOS, Android also supports a native screen recording feature. The layout may vary slightly depending on your phone's manufacturer, but the process remains largely the same. Here's how you can do it:
-
Open the Quick Settings panel on your Android device and look for the Screen Recorder or Screen Record tile. If you can't find it, tap on the edit icon to add it.
-
If the screen recorder tile is not added, search for it on the edit page and drag it to the Quick Settings panel.
-
In the Quick Settings panel, tap on the Screen Recorder option.
-
The process may differ on different Android phones. On Samsung devices, a Sound Settings popup will appear. Select the Media sounds and mic option and tap on Start recording to record both device and microphone audio. On Pixel phones, tap on the Record audio option and select Device audio and microphone from the drop-down menu. Finally, tap on Start to begin recording.
-
Once the screen is being recorded, open WhatsApp and make your video call as usual.
-
Make sure the call is being recorded by checking for the record icon in the status bar.
-
To stop recording, open the Quick Settings panel and tap on the Screen Recorder tile again. Alternatively, you can tap on the Stop option in the screen recording notification.
If your phone doesn't have a built-in screen recorder option, don't worry. There are alternative ways to record your Android screen. You can download third-party screen recording apps from the Play Store, such as the Screen Recorder app from Kimcy 929, which closely replicates the native feature.
-
Open the Play Store and download the Screen Recorder app from Kimcy 929.
-
Open the app and grant it access to storage when prompted.
-
Open the Quick Settings panel, tap on the edit icon, and drag the screen recorder option to the quick settings panel.
-
Tap on the Screen Recorder icon in the Quick Settings panel and give permission to record video and audio while using the app.
-
Tap on the Start Now button in the popup to begin recording.
-
Open WhatsApp and make your video call. When the call ends, tap on the Stop option in the notification or the Screen Recorder quick settings toggle to stop recording.
You don't have to add the tile to Quick Settings and give permissions every time you want to record a WhatsApp video call.
Saving WhatsApp Video Call Memories
Apart from the native methods mentioned above, there are several third-party apps available for both Android and iOS that allow you to record WhatsApp video calls. These apps offer additional features, such as customizing resolution, bitrate, and time delay duration before starting to record. If you prefer using a desktop, there are also screen recording apps available for Mac and Windows.
Recording your WhatsApp video calls can be a great way to cherish and relive special moments. Just remember to respect the privacy of others and obtain their consent before hitting that record button.
