How to Easily Download YouTube Videos to Your iPhone
If you're like me, you spend a lot of time on YouTube and come across many interesting videos that you want to keep on your iPhone. However, YouTube only allows you to download videos within the app, and even then, it depends on the creator's settings. But don't worry, I've got you covered. In this article, I'll show you three easy methods to download YouTube videos to your iPhone.
Method I – Using Siri Shortcut
Using a Siri Shortcut is one of the easiest ways to download a YouTube video. Although not all shortcuts work due to YouTube's API updates, I've found a shortcut that works flawlessly. Here's what you need to do:
- Install this shortcut using this iCloud link on your iPhone.
- Open the YouTube app and load the video you want to download.
- Tap the Share button next to the Like/Dislike button.
- Scroll right on the popup menu.
- Tap More (…) to load the Share Sheet.
- Tap DownTube to begin the download process.
The video will be saved directly to the Files app in either 640p or 360p resolution. Unfortunately, there is no option to set a default resolution.
Method II – Using a Third-Party App
Video Saver is a reliable web app that allows you to download YouTube videos to your iPhone. Follow these steps:
- Install the Video Saver app on your iPhone using this link.
- Copy the YouTube video URL from the YouTube app or web browser.
- Open the Video Saver app and tap the + button on the top right corner.
- Select Internet from the options.
- Paste the YouTube video link in the URL bar and tap Go.
- Tap the big red play button and then tap the Download button.
- Your video will begin downloading in the My video section.
- Tap the Options button next to your video and select “Save to Camera Roll” to save it to the Photos app.
Please note that you cannot select the video resolution using this method.
Method III – Download Using the Web Browser
Savefrom.net is a website that allows you to download YouTube videos. Here's how to use it:
- Open Safari on your iPhone running iOS 13 or higher.
- Go to en.savefrom.net and paste the YouTube video's link in the green input text field.
- The website will generate a preview of the video and show a download button below.
- Select the resolution and tap Download.
- Your video will be downloaded to the Files app in the Downloads folder.
- If you want to save the video to the Photos app, tap the Downloads icon and select the downloaded video.
- Tap the Share button and choose Save Video from the options in the Share Sheet.
With this method, you can download videos in multiple resolutions.
These are three simple ways to download YouTube videos to your iPhone. Try them out and let me know what you think. If you have any other methods, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter. Happy downloading!
