How to Easily Add or Remove Holidays from Google and Samsung Calendars

There's no doubt that digital calendars like Google and Samsung Calendars are incredibly useful for managing events and appointments. But did you know that you can also add holidays from different countries to these calendars? Whether you want to stay informed about public holidays, non-public holidays, or even religious holidays, it's easy to customize your calendar to include or exclude specific holidays. In this article, we'll show you how to add or remove holidays from both Google and Samsung Calendars.

Adding Holidays to Google Calendar

Let's start with Google Calendar. Whether you're using the mobile app or the web version, the steps are simple and straightforward.

Adding Holidays on Android and iPhone

To add holidays to Google Calendar on your Android or iPhone device, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Calendar app on your phone.
  2. Tap on the three-bar icon at the top and select “Settings.”
  3. Scroll down and tap on “Holidays” under the “More” section.
  4. Select the Google account for which you want to add holidays.
  5. Choose the country whose holidays you want to show in your calendar.
  6. Select whether you want to display public holidays only or public and other holidays.
  7. Additionally, you can also add religious holiday calendars if desired.
  8. Go back to your calendar, and the holidays will be displayed on the appropriate dates.

Adding Holidays on PC

To add holidays to Google Calendar on your PC, follow these steps:

  1. Open calendar.google.com in your web browser and sign in to your Google account.
  2. Click on the “+” icon next to the “Other calendars” option in the left sidebar.
  3. Select “Browse calendars of interest” from the menu.
  4. Click on “Browse all” under “Regional Holidays.”
  5. Choose the country whose holidays you want to show in your calendar.
  6. Select whether you want to display public holidays only or public and other holidays.
  7. You can also add religious holiday calendars if desired.
  8. The holidays will now be visible in your calendar.

Removing Holidays from Google Calendar

If you no longer want to see holidays in your Google Calendar, you can easily remove them. Here's how:

Removing Holidays on Android and iPhone

To remove holiday calendars from Google Calendar on your Android or iPhone device, follow these steps:

  1. Launch the Google Calendar app on your phone.
  2. Tap on the three-bar icon, followed by “Settings.”
  3. Tap on “Holidays.”
  4. Uncheck the box next to the country from which you want to remove holidays.
  5. Additionally, you can also remove religious holiday calendars if desired.

Removing Holidays on PC

To remove holiday calendars from Google Calendar on your PC, follow these steps:

  1. Hover your mouse pointer over the holiday calendar you want to remove in the left sidebar.
  2. Click on the “X” remove icon next to the calendar.
  3. Alternatively, you can unsubscribe from the calendar by hovering over it, clicking on the three-dot icon, selecting “Settings,” and clicking on the “Unsubscribe” button.

Adding Holidays to Samsung Calendar

While Samsung Calendar doesn't have a native holiday feature, you can still show holidays by linking it with Google Calendar. Here's how:

  1. Install and open the Google Calendar app on your Samsung Galaxy phone.
  2. Log in to your Google account and enable the holiday calendar for your preferred country.
  3. Open the Samsung Calendar app on your phone.
  4. Tap on the three-bar icon, scroll down, and tap on “Manage calendars.”
  5. Enable the toggle next to the Google account for which you enabled holidays in Google Calendar.
  6. The holidays will now be visible in the Samsung Calendar app.
  7. For best results, tap on “Sync now.”

Removing Holidays from Samsung Calendar

To remove holidays from Samsung Calendar, follow these steps:

  1. In the Samsung Calendar app, tap on the three-bar icon at the top.
  2. Expand the Google account whose holiday calendar you want to remove.
  3. Uncheck the selection circle next to the holiday calendar.
