How to Connect Spotify and Discord: Display Your Spotify Status
If you've ever wondered how some users display their Spotify status on Discord, you're in luck. It's actually a built-in feature that allows you to connect your Spotify account to Discord. Once connected, any song you play on Spotify will automatically be shown on your Discord status. Not only that, but your friends on Discord can join you and listen to the same song. Here's how you can connect Spotify and Discord and display your Spotify songs as your Discord status.
How to Connect Spotify and Discord on a Desktop
- Open the Discord app on your desktop and click on the cog icon next to your username at the bottom left corner to open the Settings.
- In the Settings menu, select the Connections option in the left sidebar.
- On the Connections page, click on the Spotify icon in the carousel under the “Add accounts to your profile” section.
- A pop-up window will appear asking you to log in to your Discord account. Enter your credentials or sign in using Google, Facebook, or Apple. If you're already logged in to Spotify on your default browser, you can skip this step.
- On the next page, Spotify will ask for your permission to access certain information in order for the features to work. Scroll down and click on the Agree button.
- Back on the Connections page, make sure the toggle next to “Display Spotify as your Status” is enabled. This will display the currently playing song on your Discord status.
- You can also enable the “Display on Profile” toggle to show your Spotify account link on your Discord profile.
How to Connect Spotify and Discord on Android and iPhone
- Open the Discord app on your phone and tap on the profile icon at the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Select the Connections option.
- On the Connections page, tap on the Add option at the top right corner. Then choose Spotify from the list of services.
- This will open the default browser on your phone. Log in to your Spotify account or sign in using Google, Facebook, or Apple. If you're already logged in to Spotify on your default browser, you can skip this step.
- Once connected, make sure the toggle next to “Display Spotify as your status” is enabled.
- You can also enable the toggle next to “Display as a profile” to show your Spotify account link on your Discord profile.
Once you've connected and enabled Spotify on Discord, whenever you play a song on Spotify, your Discord status will automatically show “Listening to Spotify.” Your friends and other users can hover over your username to see the song you're currently listening to and even click the “Play on Spotify” button to listen to the same song. Premium users can also use the “Listen Along” feature to listen to the song together with you. Additionally, if you've enabled the “Display on profile” option, your Spotify account link will be added to your Discord profile.
