How to Automatically Record Zoom Meetings
Recording meetings in Zoom is easy. Once you've joined a call, simply click the “Record” button at the bottom of the screen. However, if you frequently do webinars or want to record every Zoom meeting automatically, here's how you can set it up.
Understanding Zoom Recordings
Before we dive into the process of auto-recording Zoom meetings, let's first understand how Zoom recordings work. Here are three important things to note:
- Zoom offers two options for recording: locally or on the cloud. Cloud recording is a paid feature, while local recording is free.
- The Zoom apps for Android and iOS do not support local meeting recordings in the free version.
- By default, only the host can record meetings. Participants need to request permission to record.
How to Auto-Record Zoom Meetings
If you frequently record your meetings, it's a good idea to set up automatic recording. Follow these steps:
-
Open the Zoom app and click on the “Schedule” button.
-
In the schedule meeting window, scroll down and click on the “Advanced options” toggle.
-
From the extended menu, enable the “Automatically record meeting on the local computer” option.
-
Once the meeting starts, it will be automatically recorded. After the meeting ends, Zoom will open the folder where the recordings are saved. You can also access your recordings from the Meetings tab.
Managing Zoom Recordings
By default, Zoom stores recordings in a local folder under documents. However, you can change the location by following these steps:
- Open the Zoom app and go to the Settings menu.
- Click on the “Recordings” tab.
- Here, you can access the current recording location or change it to a different folder.
Closing Words
Zoom offers many useful features and integrations. For example, you can integrate Zoom with Slack to create meetings directly from within Slack. Additionally, you can use third-party apps like Krisp to have noise-free video calls on Zoom. If you have any questions or issues with Zoom, feel free to let us know in the comments below.
