How to Add, Remove, and Customize Widgets on iPhone Home Screen
Widgets are not only useful but also fun to interact with on an iPhone. Have you ever wondered how to add multiple types of widgets to your iPhone home screen?
In this article, we will guide you through the process of adding, customizing, and even removing widgets from your iPhone's home screen.
Add a Widget to iPhone's Home Screen
Adding a widget to your iPhone's home screen is a breeze. Here's how you can do it:
- From the Home Screen, touch and hold a widget or an empty area until the apps jiggle.
- Tap the Add button “+” in the upper-left corner.
- Select a widget, choose a widget size, then tap Add Widget.
- Tap Done.
Customize a Widget on iPhone's Home Screen
Most widgets may be customized to show the information you want to see directly from your Home Screen. If you have a Mail widget, for instance, you can tap the mailbox that appears and select a different mailbox to see the messages in that mailbox displayed in the widget.
Alternatively, you may program a Smart Stack to switch between its widgets according to your activity, where you are, what time of day it is, and other factors.
- To access the quick actions menu, simply touch and hold any widget on your Home Screen.
- Select alternatives by tapping Edit [widget name] (or Edit Stack, if it's a Smart Stack).
You can drag widgets about in a Smart Stack to rearrange them, drag a widget from the Smart Stack to the Home Screen, and press the minus symbol (–) in the upper-left corner of a widget to remove it. You can also toggle on and off Widget Suggestions and Smart Rotate.
When you activate Widget Suggestions, based on your previous usage, recommended widgets for apps you already use will show up in your Smart Stack automatically at the appropriate moment. You can add the widget to your stack using an option so that it is always available when you need it.
3. Click “Done.”
Pro Tip: You can also stack widgets on top of each other to create a Widget Stack, which allows you to have multiple widgets in one place.
Remove a Widget From iPhone's Home Screen
If you have an unwanted widget taking up valuable space on your home screen, here's how you can remove it:
- Touch and hold the widget that you want to remove.
- Tap Remove Widget.
- Tap Remove again to confirm.
Widgets serve as shortcuts to your most-used apps and services, making your home screen both stylish and functional. We hope this guide has helped you customize your home screen by adding and removing widgets according to your preferences.
