How To Add Bookmark to Your iPhone or iPad Home Screen?
While some websites do not offer dedicated mobile apps, you can still create direct access to your favorite sites by adding bookmarks to your Home screen.
This feature allows you to open a website instantly with just one tap, saving you from manually launching a browser, searching for the site, or typing in a URL.
By adding a website shortcut to your Home screen, the page will open directly in Safari when tapped.
If the website is optimized for mobile devices, the experience may closely resemble using an actual app.
This can be particularly useful for frequently visited sites, such as news portals, online tools, or personal dashboards.
Additionally, you have the flexibility to create multiple website shortcuts and organize them on your Home screen just like standard apps.
You can move them to different pages, group them into folders, or even place them in the dock for quick access.
Below is a step-by-step guide to setting up a website shortcut on your iPhone or iPad.

Steps to Add a Website Shortcut to the Home Screen
- Open Safari – Begin by launching the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPad.
- Go to Your Desired Website – Enter the URL of the website you want to save and load the page.
- Access the Share Menu – Tap the Share button, represented by a square with an upward-pointing arrow. You’ll find this icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Find the “Add to Home Screen” Option – Scroll through the list of options until you see “Add to Home Screen.” If this option does not appear, tap “Edit Actions” at the bottom, locate “Add to Home Screen,” and enable it for future use.
- Enter a Name for the Shortcut – A text field will appear, allowing you to type a name for the shortcut. This will be the label displayed under the website icon on your Home screen.
- Confirm and Add the Shortcut – Tap the “Add” button in the upper-right corner. The shortcut will now be placed on the next available space on your Home screen.

Managing and Organizing Website Shortcuts
Once the website shortcut appears on your Home screen, you can treat it like any other app icon.
To move it, tap and hold the shortcut until the icons start wiggling, then drag it to your preferred location.
If you want to remove it, press and hold the icon, then select “Remove Bookmark” or use the delete option when rearranging apps.
By following these steps, you can create quick access points for any frequently visited website, making your browsing experience more efficient and convenient.
