Getac T800 Ex-8.1 Upgraded To Explosion Proof

The rugged 8.1-inch Windows / Android tablet Getac T800 have been upgraded with new certification, giving the new tablet the name Getac T800 Ex-8.1.

The Getac T800 was already a fully rugged tablet with IP65 rating and MIL-STD810G rating, but the Ex-8.1 also receives the European ATEX Zone 2/22 certification, which effectively means that it's safe to use this tablet in a workplace with flammable gases, vapors, fumes, or dust that can ignite, since the Getac T800 Ex-8.1 is built to reduce the chance of sparks, like when cables are connected or disconnected from the tablet.

It has hardware such as a 2.16 GHz Intel Pentium N3530 processor, 4GB of DDR3L RAM, 64GB or 128GB SSD storage, a 1280 x 800 resolution display with a very high 600 nits brightness, and also particularly strong wireless antennas and modems to be able to pass data through what would otherwise be weak signals. It also has a optional SnapBack battery pack that can extend the battery life from 8 hours to 16 hours. That's Lenovo Yoga long.

As a rugged tablet it is thick at 24mm, and heavy with a weight of 915 grams. The price is also $2100. But then again it can withstand drops of up to 1.8 meters and has a 3 year warranty.
