First Rugged Android Tablets With Heated Screens Launched
Zebra Technologies unveiled two enterprise and rugged tablets with a heated screen this week with the ET60 and ET65 series of rugged Android tablets.
Both ET60 and ET65 are 10.1-inch Full HD tablets running Android. The heating works when the tablets are docked, and then both the touchscreen and the keyboard wil be heated, which should keep both free of condensation, as well as maintain touchscreen precision if the temperatures are freezing.
The tablets are powered by the Qualcomm 6490 processor, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS storage. And Zebra will support Android updates up to Android 16 on these devices.
Apart from the normal set of rugged specs, these Zebra tablets also go the extra length with steel ball drop protection, optional 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Citizen’s Broadband Radio Service (CBRS), Dual-Band GNSS, hot swappable batteries up to 17,840 mAh, an 8MP front camera and a 16MP rear camera with LED.
So even though Samsung's upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series of tablets will be waterproof as well, the best rugged tablet brands keeps innovating and pull ahead too, which gives us users increasingly better and more exciting tablet every year.
