Apple Adapting OLED Displays In iPads Starting Next Year

Apple is continuing to upgrade their displays in various ways, according to Korean ETNews who cites supply chain insiders who confirms that Apple have made agreements to buy OLED displays for iPads starting in 2022-2023.

Up until the launch of the new mini-LED iPad Pro 12.9, Apple had always used LCD displays, and one year they even downgraded the display on the regular iPad to make it cheaper to manufacture, while also separating the regular iPad more from the iPad Air and iPad Pros.

What iPad will be the first with an OLED display goes unmentioned.

The iPad Pro 12.9 is likely to continue to feature the more costly Liquid Retina XDR mini-LED display though, as that display type still gives professional graphics editors a little more choice and edge than any of the other display types at the moment.
