Samsung is launching the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A Kids Edition (2019) for $149 on October 8, which is an 8-inch Android 9.0 Pie tablet with a protective and kids friendly bumper case:

Underneath we find the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019) tablet which actually costs the same.
That means specs like a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, a 1280 x 800 resolution display, stereo speakers, a 2MP front camera, 8MP rear camera, dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, and a 10 hour battery life.

Children's Tablet features includes things like the bumper case (that can be taken off), and two levels of Samsung kids content, which is split between parental control features where parents or other guardians can set time limits, fore it off during bed hours, restrict content, and supervise use of the tablet.
It can also be used with the subscription service Samsung Kids where Samsung have built a large education and entertainment center exclusively with kids content. A free trial of Samsung Kids is included with this kids tablet.
