Blocking a number on your Samsung phone can be a useful trick to avoid unwanted contact. But what if you change your mind or accidentally block someone? Luckily, unblocking a number is a simple process. In this article, we will explore various ways to unblock a number on your Samsung Galaxy phone.

1. Unblock a Contact

If you have blocked a number that is saved on your phone, you can easily unblock it through the Contacts app.

  1. Launch the Samsung Contacts app on your phone.
  2. Open the contact that you want to unblock.
  3. Tap on the More (three-dot) icon and select Unblock contact from the menu. The contact will be unblocked.

2. Find and Unblock All Blocked Numbers

This method allows you to view and unblock all the blocked numbers on your Samsung Galaxy phone. It is especially useful when you want to unblock an unsaved or deleted phone number.

  1. Launch the Samsung Phone app.
  2. Tap on the three-dot icon at the top and select Settings from the menu.
  3. Tap on Block numbers. Here, you will find a list of blocked numbers on your phone. Tap on the Remove (-) icon next to the number you want to unblock.

3. Unblock From Recent Calls List

If a blocked number tries to call you, their number or name will appear in the recent calls list. You can unblock them directly from the recent calls history.

  1. Open the Samsung Phone app.
  2. Go to the Recents tab and tap on the number you want to unblock. Press the (i) icon.
  3. Tap on the More (three-dot) icon and select Unblock from the menu.

4. Unblock Using Messages App

You can also view the blocked list on your Samsung phone through the Messages app.

  1. Open the Samsung Messages app.
  2. Tap on the three-dot icon at the top and select Settings.
  3. Tap on Block numbers and spam. From there, you can view the blocked list and unblock a number. You can also view blocked messages.

5. Unblock Spam Calls

Samsung Galaxy phones offer a native feature to block spam calls. If you have accidentally blocked a number that is not spam, you can turn off the spam protection.

  1. Launch the Samsung Phone app.
  2. Tap on the three-dot icon and select Settings.
  3. Tap on Caller ID and spam protection. Turn off the toggle next to Block spam and scam calls. Alternatively, select “Only block high-risk scam calls” instead of “Block all spam and scam calls.”

6. Unblock Unknown/Private Numbers

Samsung also provides a feature to block unknown or private calls. If you want to unblock private calls, follow these steps:

  1. In the Samsung Phone app, tap the three-dot icon and choose Settings.
  2. Tap on Block numbers and turn off the toggle next to Block unknown/private numbers.

7. Unblock From Third-Party Apps

If a number remains blocked on your Samsung phone, check the third-party calling or spam protection apps (like TrueCaller) installed on your phone. Unblock the number from those apps.

It's important to note that when you block a number from the Contacts or Phone app, it only affects regular calls and SMS messages. The blocked contact can still reach you through other apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, and Instagram. If you have blocked someone on any other app, you must unblock them on that specific app.

Remember, blocking someone is a drastic measure. If you want to avoid someone without blocking them, you can mute calls from that person or remove them from specific apps like WhatsApp instead.

Unblocking a number on your Samsung phone is quick and easy. Follow these steps to regain contact with previously blocked numbers and manage your call and message preferences effortlessly.
