6 Tips to Maximize Your App Drawer Experience on Samsung Galaxy Phones
The app drawer on your Samsung Galaxy phone serves as a central hub for all your apps and games. But did you know that there are several ways to enhance your app drawer experience? Whether you want to improve its aesthetics, streamline its functionality, or create an intuitive layout, these tips will help you make the most out of your daily interactions with the app drawer.
1. Enable the App Drawer Icon
By default, One UI Home doesn't offer an app drawer icon on your Samsung Galaxy phone, which means you have to use a swipe-up gesture to access your apps. However, if you prefer a more direct and straightforward approach, you can enable the app drawer icon on your phone. Simply long-press on an empty spot on your home screen, select “Settings,” and enable the toggle next to “Show Apps screen button on Home screen.”
2. Customize the App Icon Size
The size of app icons also plays a crucial role in the app drawer experience. For users with visual impairments, larger icons with clear shapes and colors can enhance visibility and recognition. On the other hand, those who prefer a more compact and organized app drawer may opt for smaller icons. Luckily, you can adjust the app icon size on your Samsung Galaxy phone. Long-press on an empty spot on your home screen, select “Settings,” and choose “Apps screen grid.” Select your preferred grid for the app drawer, and the size of the app icons will adjust accordingly.
3. Enable Vertical App Drawer
One UI Home's horizontal app drawer sets Samsung phones apart from other Android launchers that typically feature a vertical app drawer. While the horizontal layout has its advantages, you can change the app drawer scrolling orientation on your Samsung Galaxy phone. To do this, you'll need to use the Home Up Good Lock module. Download and install the Good Lock app from the Samsung Galaxy Store. Open the Good Lock app, go to the “Make up” tab, locate “Home Up,” and tap the download icon next to it. Once installed, open the Home Up module, select “Home screen,” and enable the toggle next to “Apps list.”
4. Hide App Labels
If you prefer a cleaner and more streamlined app drawer appearance, you can use the Home Up Good Lock module to hide app labels on your Samsung Galaxy phone. Open the Good Lock app, tap on the Home Up module, go to “Home screen,” and enable the toggle next to “Hide app icon label.”
5. Hide Apps From the App Drawer
Do you have apps or games that you want to keep hidden? You can hide those apps from the home screen and app drawer on your Samsung Galaxy phone for added privacy. Long-press on an empty spot on your home screen, select “Settings,” and choose “Hide apps on Home and Apps screen.” Use the checkboxes to select the apps you want to hide, and tap “Done.” Your apps will no longer appear on the app drawer or home screen, and you can unhide them at any time by visiting the “Hide apps on Home and Apps screen” menu again.
6. Arrange Apps in the App Drawer
To quickly access your most frequently used apps and create a more intuitive app drawer layout, you can rearrange apps within the app drawer. Open the app drawer, tap the kebab menu (three-dot icon) in the top right corner, and select “Sort.” Choose “Custom order,” and then long-press on an app icon to drag it to your preferred app drawer page and location.
With features like vertical scrolling, customizable app icon sizes, hidden app labels, and the ability to arrange apps, you can transform your Samsung Galaxy phone's app drawer to suit your preferences. Don't forget to explore themes to further personalize your app drawer and give it a fresh look. Now, go ahead and optimize your app drawer experience for a more seamless and enjoyable smartphone usage.
