6 Features We Hoped for in the iPhone 14 Series
Apple recently unveiled the highly anticipated iPhone 14 series at their ‘Far Out' event in California. While the new iPhones do bring some exciting upgrades, there are still a few features that fans were hoping to see but didn't make the cut.
In this article, we'll explore six features that we wished were included in the iPhone 14 series.
1. USB Type-C

It's surprising that Apple has yet to embrace the USB Type-C connector on the iPhone. Despite showcasing the advantages of USB Type-C on numerous occasions for iPads and Macs, the iPhone still relies on the Lightning connector.
Switching to USB Type-C would offer users more convenience, better compatibility, and faster data transfer speeds. It would also align with Apple's commitment to reducing environmental impact by eliminating the need for users to buy new cables when their included Type-C cable breaks.
2. Telephoto Camera
While Android flagships have made significant strides in the telephoto camera department, Apple chose not to include this feature in the iPhone 14 Pro series.
The reliable and steady telephoto cameras found in offerings like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra have been well-received by users and reviewers alike.
It would have been the perfect time for Apple to hop on the telephoto camera train and provide an enhanced camera experience for iPhone users.

3. New Camera Layout
Apple has made improvements to the rear cameras with each new iPhone release, but the camera layout has remained mostly unchanged since the iPhone 11 Pro.
While the computational photography, low-light performance, and HDR capabilities have improved, users were hoping for a fresh camera layout.
It would have been exciting to see a new design that accommodates a newer 48MP sensor for the Pro lineup.
4. More Display Size Options

Due to the fact that the iPhone Mini model has been discontinued, customers of the iPhone 14 series are only able to choose between two display sizes: 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches.
Some users may find the 6.1-inch display to be too small for their needs, while others may find the 6.7-inch size to be too large for practical portability. However, these sizes may be suitable for a vast number of users.
By introducing a screen size that was somewhere in the middle, somewhere between 6.4 and 6.5 inches, the company would have achieved the ideal balance between screen size, battery life, and user ease.
5. Better Charging Speeds
Users had hoped for better charging speeds in the iPhone 14 series, even though Apple enables 20W fast charging, which can charge an iPhone from 0% to 50% in 30 minutes.
A charging speed of at least 45W, like Samsung's offering, would have been a great boost, even though it may not be reasonable to expect triple-digit charging speeds like certain Android devices.
6. A Foldable iPhone
Apple is conspicuously missing from this trend, with competitors like Samsung, Oppo, Xiaomi, and others joining the foldable market.
Fans were hoping to see some hint of a foldable iPhone in the iOS 16 release, but it makes sense that Apple could have trouble getting high-quality flexible AMOLED panels at scale. Apple might eventually join the foldable gadget trend and provide their own style to this cutting-edge form factor.
Even though the iPhone 14 series has some significant improvements over its predecessors, it is still regarded as a slight improvement.

It's important to note that Apple has chosen to utilize the same A15 CPU throughout the series, so customers requiring the fastest processing capability will have to choose the Pro model.
In conclusion, the iPhone 14 series offers several exciting features and improvements, but there are still some missing elements that fans had hoped for.
Whether it's the inclusion of USB Type-C, a telephoto camera, a new camera layout, more display size options, better charging speeds, or a foldable design, Apple may consider incorporating these features in future iterations of the iPhone.
