6 Awesome Tips to Master the Clipboard in Android 13

Android 13 is here, and it's packed with exciting new features like enhanced customization, the ability to set different app languages, and sharing specific photos. But one of the most significant changes is the revamped clipboard functionality. With the new clipboard in Android 13, you can now edit copied text and images before sharing them. If you want to make the most out of this feature, here are six tips to help you use the clipboard in Android 13 like a pro.

1. Edit Text in Clipboard

When you copy text or an image in Android 13, a bubble will appear at the bottom-left corner of your screen. Tap on the bubble to open Android 13's clipboard editor. Once opened, you can add or remove text as needed. When you're done, simply tap the “Done” button at the top to copy the edited content to your clipboard. From there, you can paste it wherever you want using the Paste button.

2. Edit Image in Clipboard

Just like text, you can also edit images in your clipboard before sharing them. You can crop, add text, or draw on the image to make it perfect.

  1. Touch and hold the image you want to copy into any app or website, then select “Copy” from the menu.
  2. The clipboard bubble will appear. Tap on the image in the bubble to open the image editor.
  3. Use the tools at the bottom of the screen, such as Crop, Text, and Brushes, to edit your image. Tap “Done” to save the edited image to your clipboard.
  4. Finally, paste the image into your preferred app.

3. Share Items from the Clipboard

In the past, when you copied text or an image on your phone, you had to open the app and then paste the content into it. However, with Android 13's clipboard, you can now paste the copied text or image into any app using the Share button without even opening the app.

  1. Copy the text or image you want to share using the Copy button.
  2. The clipboard bubble will appear at the bottom-left corner. Tap on the Share icon next to the bubble.
  3. Select the app where you want to share the copied text or image. The item will be automatically pasted into the app.

4. Take Action on Data in Clipboard

Android 13's clipboard offers a handy shortcut when you copy a text that contains specific information, such as a phone number or address. The clipboard bubble will show a shortcut to the app that can open the copied text directly.

  1. Copy the text containing the specific information.
  2. In the clipboard bubble, tap on the app icon to open the copied text in that particular app.

5. Remove the Clipboard Bubble

To hide the clipboard bubble, simply swipe it to the right or tap on the X (Remove) icon on the bubble.

6. Share Clipboard Across Devices

In future updates of Android 13, it will be possible to share the clipboard between Android phones and tablets. This means you can copy content like pictures, text, URLs, and more on your phone and paste it on your tablet, or vice versa.
