4 Easy Methods to Download YouTube Shorts Videos
YouTube Shorts is an exciting platform that offers attention-grabbing and fun videos, similar to TikTok and Instagram Reels. There may be various reasons why you want to download YouTube Shorts videos. Perhaps you accidentally deleted the original video from your phone, or maybe you forgot the password to your channel. The good news is that you can easily download YouTube Shorts videos with or without being logged into your account.
Method 1: Download Your Own YouTube Shorts Videos
To download your own YouTube Shorts video, you need to open YouTube Studio on your PC. Log in with the YouTube account where your video is posted. Click on the “Content” tab from the left side, and all your videos (regular and Shorts) will appear. Hover your mouse over the video you want to download, click on the three-dot icon, and choose “Download” from the menu.
Tip: You can use this method to download both regular and Shorts videos.
Method 2: Download Other People's Shorts Videos
YouTube allows you to download regular videos, which also works for Shorts. However, these videos can only be viewed offline within the YouTube app and cannot be downloaded to your phone's gallery. But don't worry, there's a simple workaround to download Shorts for offline viewing:
- Open the Shorts video you want to download.
- Tap on the channel name at the bottom of the video. This will take you to the screen where you can see videos published by the channel. Click on the channel name again.
- Tap on the “Videos” tab and find the Shorts video you want to download. Tap on the three-dot icon next to the video and choose “Download video.”
Another way to open the Shorts video as a regular video is to tap on the music icon at the bottom of the Shorts video and then tap on the arrow icon next to the video title. Once the video opens, tap on the Download button below the video. This method is useful if the video is using an original audio track, as there will only be one video under the music label.
To view the downloaded videos, open the YouTube app and tap on the Library tab at the bottom. Then, go to Downloads, and you will find your downloaded videos.
Method 3: Use YouTube Shorts Downloaders
If you want to download YouTube Shorts videos to your phone's gallery on Android and iPhone, you can use YouTube video downloading websites. There are dedicated websites that allow you to download Shorts, or you can use websites that download regular YouTube videos. Follow these steps to download YouTube Shorts videos using this method:
- Open the Shorts video you want to download. Tap on the Share icon and choose “Copy link” from the menu.
- Open https://en.savefrom.net/1-youtube-video-downloader-7/ in a browser on your phone or PC, and paste the copied link in the available box. Tap on the button next to the box.

- On Android, the video will start downloading automatically and will be saved to your phone's gallery.
On iPhone, tap on the Download button in the pop-up menu to start the download. You will find the downloaded video in the Files app. Open the Files app, navigate to the Downloads folder, open the video, and hit the Share button. You can save the video using the Apple Photos app.

If you are unable to download videos using the above steps on iPhone, you can try using the “Documents by Readdle” app. Launch the browser inside the Documents app, open one of the mentioned websites, paste the video link, and download the video. The downloaded video will appear in the Documents app. You can then move the video to the Photos app.
Method 4: Download YouTube Shorts Using Open-Source Apps
Unfortunately, you cannot directly install an app from the Play Store or App Store to download YouTube Shorts videos. However, you can use open-source video downloader apps like New Pipe to download videos from YouTube Shorts:
- Install the New Pipe APK from the official website. You may need to grant permission to install apps from unknown sources.
