Acer announced the brand new Acer Switch 3 today in New York, and this is a budget minded 12.2-inch Windows 10 2-in-1 tablet.
Powered by choices of Intel Pentium or Intel Celeron processors, the Acer Switch 3 release date is June in USA and Canada says Acer, where the entry level model will start at $399. In EMA countries it will start at €499, and finally 4999 Yuan in China, where it will launch in July. Acer cautions that exact specs might vary from market to market.
But the US model of the Acer Switch 3 has a choice of either an Intel Pentium N4200 “Apollo Lake” processor or an Intel Celeron N3350 processor. Memory options are up to 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, with storage options of 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of eMMC storage.
Acer Switch 3 is equipped with a 12.2-inch screen sporting a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1200, with optional Acer Active Pen, which is a 1024 pressure sensitive stylus that supports the Windows Ink.
The Acer Switch 3 battery life is just 8 hours, from a Li-ion 4670 mAh battery pack. Other Acer Switch 3 specs includes a 720p Full HD front webcam and 5MP rear camera, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a USB 3.1 Type-A port, and Bluetooth 4.0.
The tablet has a built-in kickstand, while the keyboard is a thin Surface style keyboard. As for dimensions, the Acer Switch 3 is 9.95 mm thick and weighs 900 grams.
