The Fastest Tablets And 2-In-1’s Of 2020 – (That Were Launched In 2020)
As we are nearing the end of the year, any tablet brand that wants to get into the list of the fastest tablets of 2020 better hurry. Though strictly speaking, none of the few tablets that will be released in December will get into this list anyway due to lack of performance.
If you need a tablet computer now in December, then only one to really avoid right now is the Surface Pro 7, since the successor Surface Pro 8 is expected to launch in January 2021 with an 11th gen. Intel Core processor, but otherwise the same old design. On the other hand, the Surface Pro 7 is on sale right now for that reason, so it all depends on your needs.
But here's the list of the most powerful and fastest tablets and 2-in-1 tablet computers that were also launched in 2020, with one of each size and OS. The tablets are sorted by their performance, starting with the most powerful ones.
Microsoft Surface Book 3
These 13.5-inch and 15-inch Windows 2-in-1 tablets are the most powerful Windows tablets, owing to the additional Nvidia GPU options and up to 32GB RAM.
Microsoft Surface Pro 7
The slimmer alternative to the Surface Book 3, with most of the same performance, though not the same GPU and a maximum of 16GB RAM.
Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i
With the Intel Core i7 processor, this Windows 2-in-1 tablet is both powerful and innovative, being the first tablet in the world with a color sensing pen.
Apple iPad Pro 12.9 and 11
The two 2020 iPad Pros are very powerful tablets, and with the efficient iPadOS, they can beat the Surface Book 3 and Surface Pro 7 in speed on many tasks too.
Apple iPad Air 10.9
The just launched and remade iPad Air 4 is an extremely capable tablet or optional 2-in-1, with power that can mostly match the iPad Pro, but for less money.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+
Samsung's flagship tablets at 11 and 12.4 inches are the most powerful Android tablets of 2020, as well as the best equipped ones. Their performance are the same, and only the LCD display of the 11-inch S/ separates it from the OLED display 12.4 S7+.
Apple iPad 10.2 (2020)
This new model was released in September 18th with a more powerful Apple A12 processor and faster RAM, and despite the $329 launch price, it hits above it's weight class.
Microsoft Surface Go 2
The new 2020 Surface Go 2 got the option of a more powerful Intel Core m3 processor, which makes all the difference in the world for performance. So as a small Windows tablet with keyboard, the m3 model performs well.
Microsoft Surface Pro X
The only Windows on ARM tablet that was launched in 2020 actually. The design is the same as last year's model, but it did get a slightly upgraded SQ2 processor. This Windows 2-in-1 should only be considered for those who knows what Windows on ARM currently means in terms of limitations.
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold
The first folding tablet PC in the world running Windows 10 with a large screen at 13.3-inches, still has some power.
Chuwi Hi10 XR
The 2020 upgraded 10.1-inch Windows 2-in-1 tablet was just launched with a newer processor, making it an alternative to the entry level version of Surface Go 2.
Teclast M40
Surprisingly enough, Teclast launched one of the most powerful Android tablets of 2020, with 6GB RAM even. Making this the most powerful new 10.1-inch Android tablet of 2020.
