Porsche Design 911 Soundbar 2.0 Pro – The Ultimate Tablet Speaker Accessory Of The Year

Tablet speakers have come some way in terms of their performance over the years.

Both the clarity, ambiance, and the bass of the speakers have improved in tablets, and every couple of years we are seeing new and improved ways in which the audio is delivered or produced, either through an increase in speakers, an upgrade of the audio encoding technologies, and even new audio settings for particular environments, if you switch from gaming to watching movies.

But even if tablets like the Surface Pro 9 has 2 watt stereo speakers, it’s still difficult with today’s audio technology to deliver an even fuller sound without adding a lot of weight to a tablet. So sometimes you need to connect your tablet to bigger speakers.

And if you’re a car enthusiast, you’re likely going to want Porsche’s newest exhaust pipe speakers, the new 911 Soundbar 2.0 Pro.

This isn’t the first time Porsche has launched real exhaust system speakers, but these are the newest on the market, and their biggest to date.

These are collector item limited edition 300 watt Dolby Atmos DTS-HD speakers with 2.1.2 Virtual Surround sound, where the twin exhaust pipes are parts of the speaker.

What makes the speaker unique is that these are actual Porsche 992 GT3 mufflers, if that is the right word for the silencers in this context.

The sound would not be optimal if all the output had come through a set of original exhaust pipes, so Porsche Design has mounted all of it on this 150cm wide soundbar with a hidden display to ensure that you actually do get quality audio out of it.

Porsche did something similar on the predecessor several years ago, which looks small now by comparison, seen in the video here.

Porsche Design 911 Soundbar 2.0 Pro supports both wireless and cabled audio through Bluetooth 5.0, 4K HDMI, and multiroom streaming with Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Spotify Connect and so on.

Production is limited to a number of 500 and it’ll be released on January 1st, 2023, but you can pre-order it today for $12,000.
