You can tell that it’s pre-Xmas shopping season with the new in-house tablets being launched these days, and the latest addition here is the the Digiland 10.1 on Best Buy.
It’s not so much a competitor to Amazon’s Fire HD 10 though, since the OS and specs are different enough. The 10.1-inch screen is a HD screen at 1280 x 800, while the tablet is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8167 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 32GB storage.
With a 5 hour battery life, that itself is a good enough reason to avoid it. And specs like a 0.3MP front camera, 2MP rear camera, and just 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, doesn’t really help.
It has Android 8.1 Oreo going for it, but just because it seems cheap, doesn’t mean that it should be bought for that reason alone. Just a little extra money will buy a much more satisfying tablet in the 10-inch category.
