The New Dell Venue 7 is the predecessor to the first Dell Venue 7, a 7-inch Android tablet that was launched in October last year in the $159 budget tablet category, or at least it was back in 2013.
There have only been a few changes to the new tablet. The first is the change from the previous Intel Atom Z2560 processor to the Intel Merrifield Z3460 processor, though still dual-core. Along with a different processor comes a change from DDR2 RAM to DDR3 RAM as well, now at 1GB.
Other changes are the latest Android 4.4 KitKat, 802.11 AC Wi-Fi, Miracast support, Bluetooth 4.0, and a change from a 4100mAh battery to a new 4550mAh battery.
The display is otherwise the same with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixel, and the price is still $159. So in that category there are a lot of other tablets to chose from, and the new quad-core Asus MeMO Pad HD 7 is the best value of them all at the moment.
