The Japanese blog Mac Otakara have launched a new rumor about the next iPads that are a bit different from the expectations of respected Apple stock analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The new iPad rumors have a fifty-fifty chance of being true, with Mac Otakara having a mixed track record with its various Apple rumors, as MacRumors rightly says.
The Mac Otakara rumors states that 4 new iPads will be launched in the spring of 2017, with these being a new 7.9-inch iPad mini, a new 9.7-inch iPad, a first 10.1-inch iPad, and a new 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
The next 12.9-inch iPad Pro is now rumored to feature True Tone display, four-channel ambient light sensors that adapts according to the light of the surroundings, a 12MP iSight camera with True Tone flash, while keeping the 3.5 mm audio combo jack.
The 7.9-inch “iPad mini 5” meanwhile is rumored to get a Smart Connector, True Tone display, quad speakers, quad mics, and a 12MP iSight camera with True Tone flash too, while retaining the 3.5 mm audio combo jack.
Ming-Chi Kuo on the other hand believes that a 10-inch iPad will be a 10.5-inch iPad, not a 10.1-inch one.
Currently there are no real expecations of any new iPad launching in Q4 2016, in the same way that Amazon only refreshed one of their Fire tablets this year too, with the new Fire HD 8. iPads tend to leak repeatedly many months ahead of launch, and there are no repeated leaks as of yet, so it really looks like we will have to wait until April 2017 or so for the next iPads.
But every iPad in production today is a great tablet anyway, so it’s not like iPads are in desperate need of an upgrade.
The latest iPad move from Apple was their new cheaper iPad prices and the iOS 10 release last month.
