How to Cast from iPhone to TV Wirelessly
- Open Control Center and tap Screen Mirroring to mirror your screen to a compatible smart TV wirelessly.
- Connect your iPhone to the TV with a cable, preferably HDMI, depending on your ports.
- Use third-party apps to cast content or mirror your iPhone to the TV.
Follow these steps to mirror your iPhone to a TV without an Apple TV, using wired and wireless options.

How to Mirror an iPhone to a Smart TV Without Wires
You can connect your iPhone to a smart TV wirelessly if the TV supports AirPlay 2. Check your TV’s manual for compatibility.
Here’s how to do it:
- Ensure your iPhone and TV are turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Swipe down from the top right corner of your iPhone to open the Control Center.
- Tap Screen Mirroring.
- Select your TV from the list.
- If a passcode appears on your TV, enter it on your iPhone to complete the connection.
After mirroring your iPhone to your TV, follow the steps again and tap Stop Mirroring.

Mirroring an iPhone to a TV with an Adapter (Without Apple TV)
You can mirror your iPhone to the TV with a cable, even if you don’t have a compatible TV or Apple TV. You need to sit close to the TV.
You will need a cable and an adapter since the iPhone and TV don’t have the same ports.
The adapter you need depends on your iPhone model and the TV’s available ports. Most TVs use HDMI, and some also have VGA.
Apple suggests these adapters based on your iPhone model: Lightning Digital AV Adapter, Lightning to VGA Adapter, USB-C Display AV Adapter, or USB-C VGA Multi-port Adapter.
After connecting the cable and adapter to your iPhone, plug the cable into the TV and change the TV’s input source using the menu or remote.
Tip: When you use this method, your iPhone screen appears exactly on the TV. Watching a movie might not fill the entire screen.
Using an App to Mirror Your iPhone to a TV
Streaming devices let you mirror your iPhone to a TV. For example, you can use the Roku app to mirror your iPhone to a Roku device.
You can also use Chromecast and Amazon Fire devices for this feature.
To cast from your iPhone to Chromecast, connect them using the Google Home app. It works like AirPlay.
Tap the Cast icon from a supported app like YouTube, then select Chromecast as the target.
For Amazon Fire devices, download an app to mirror your iPhone. AirScreen is a popular choice. Install it on your Fire Stick.
AirScreen works with multiple platforms, including Chromecast and AirPlay, making it a good option if the standard apps don’t work.
