Dual-Screen Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED Unveiled Today

So Asus has just unveiled their first new dual-screen laptop of 2022, with the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED (UX8402).

This is another Asus laptop with a screen where you expect to find it, and another screen above they keyboard. But let’s begin with the main power.

It will launch with options of either the 12th gen. Intel Core i7-12700H processor or the i9-12900H processor, with Intel Iris Xe and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti, up to 32GB of 4800MHz LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 performance SSD storage.

So it’s snappy even if Asus didn’t go for the most powerful GPU in the range. But this is because this is a computer more for the creators.

The main screen is a touchscreen with digitizer support that fits into a very rare 14.5-inch category with a 2.8K 2880 x 1800 resolution OLED display, with a 0.2ms response time, 120Hz rate, DCI-P3 100%, and 550 nits brightness.

The secondary screen however is called the ScreenPad Plus, and this is a 12.7-inch screen with a resolution of 2880 x 864 and pen support as well.

And of course it’s fitted with Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6, and other high end specs you would want in a laptop like this.

But it’s mainly geared towards people who can benefit from really using these two screens simultaneously. So it’s no surprise that it has Pantone validate color accuracy for illustrators and graphics professionals.

Good to know that there are still some areas where laptops can outwit tablet computers.

Asus expects to be able to launch it in North America from $2299 during the summer.
