The Chuwi Hi12 pre-order is for the 64-bit Windows 10 version of this 12-inch tablet. The 12-inch wide-angle IPS screen has 2160 x 1440 resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio, and 10-point touch support, while it is powered by a Intel Atom “Cherry Trail” x5-Z8300 processor, with 4GB of DDR3 RAM, and 64GB of storage with microSD card support up to 64GB.
The battery capacity is quoted as quite high, with a claimed battery life on the Chuwi Hi12 of 11000 mAh.
Internet connectivity comes from 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0. Ports include a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, a micro-USB port, and a micro-HDMI port, in addition to a 3.5 mm audio combo jack.
In addition to the stereo speakers, the Chuwi Hi12 also has a 2MP front camera for video chats, and a 5MP rear camera for higher resolution photos or videos.
The thickness of Chuwi Hi12 is 8.9 mm, while the weight is 852 grams.
This is a cheap tablet, but it is no Surface Pro beater. The Surface Pro 3 with Intel Core processor and the original 2160 x 1440 resolution can be had from $599 these days. But that may still be too much for a lot of people. So tablet alternatives is always a good thing.
The Chuwi Hi12 release date is January 28, 2016.
