Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi Released Today

One of the most talked about new tablets of 2015, the Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi was finally released today, two months after Asus unveiled the T100 Chi at CES on January 6:

As you can see, it’s the Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi Signature Edition that was released today, which means that it comes without trialware and other software people don’t want. So just a fresh clean Windows 8.1, but Office 365 Personal is included.

It’s called the world’s thinnest Windows 8.1 tablet or 2-in-1 by Asus, with a thickness of 7.11mm for the tablet.

It also adds for the first time what was missing from the first regular versions of the Asus Transformer Book T100, which was Full HD resolution. The Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi has a 10.1-inch Full HD 1920 x 1200 resolution wide-angle IPS display with 10-finger multi-touch support.

The processor is the quad-core 1.46GHz Intel Atom “Bay Trail-T” Z3775 processor with 2.39GHz turbo clock speeds, and this processor also brings with it the NX bit (No-eXecute) technology too which adds exploit security that few processors have.

Asus T100 Chi has 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM (1067 MHz), 32GB eMMC storage with microSD card support, a 2MP front camera, a 5MP rear camera, a micro-USB 3.0 port, and two micro-USB 2.0 ports with one in the tablet and one in the keyboard dock, as well as micro-HDMI and a 3.5mm audio combo jack. It also has stereo speakers with Asus SonicMaster audio technology.

The Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi is a Windows 2-in-1 tablet, so there’s an included keyboard naturally, also refered to as dock or keyboard dock. The keyboard connects via Bluetooth so it can be used for other devices too, like your phone, and has a touchpad/trackpad and a keyboard travel of 1.3mm.

So it has Bluetooth 4.0 + HS and 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi support. The battery life is on average 11 hours long (not 8 hours like the description on Microsoft Store says) from a 2-cell lithium-polymer 30 Whrs battery. This is the same long battery life found on last years ordinary Asus T100. The weight is 570 grams for the tablet.

The release of the Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi comes a couple of days after the release of the larger 12.5-inch Intel Core M powered Asus Transformer Book T300 Chi, both of which have the same diamond cut design and finish.

The model number for the Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi that is now taking orders is T100 CHI-C1-BK.
