Asus ROG Strix XG17AHPE 240Hz Portable Gaming Display To Launch February 24 – Now Taking Orders

The gaming division of Asus known as ROG announced the hot new portable gaming monitor ROG Strix XG17AHPE right at the end of January, and now it has just gone up for pre-order for $499. The Asus ROG Strix XG17AHPE release date is set to February 24:

So naturally, with a price like that from a 17.3-inch portable display, you kind of expect a lot. But keep in mind that this is a specialized portable monitor for gaming first of all.

The specs for the ROG Strix XG17AHPE are a 17.3-inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, which is special with its 240Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time. Color saturation is at 100% sRGB, while the non-glare display has a brightness of 300 nits.

There are a lot of preset modes, such as Scenery, Racing, Cinema, RTS, RPG, FPS, sRGB Modes, MOBA Mode, User Mode, Crosshair, Timer, FPS Counter, and Display Alignment, with low blue light, auto rotation, and HDCP support, with hybrid-signal USB C and micro-HDMI signal input.

Unlike some of the earlier portable displays, the ROG Strix XG17AHPE Stereo RMS also has speakers, with 2x 1 watt stereo speakers featuring RMS ESS Sabre HiFi DAC, and it has it's own 7800 mAh battery too, which gives it a battery life of 3.5 hours at 240Hz. The charging supports Quick Charge 3.0.
