Alcatel’s new entry level 8-inch Android 10 tablet Alcatel Joy Tab 2 has been launched in the US, under T-Mobile’s Metro division. This is an 8-inch HD tablet costing $119.
The specs are not particularly high considering the price, and it also has benchmark scores below that of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0.
Alcatel Joy Tab 2 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8766B processor, along with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage.
The 8-inch screen has a HD resolution of 1280 x 800, with 5MP front and rear cameras, and a mono speaker.
Even the OS is the lighter Android 10 Go Edition. But hey, since it’s sold by a wireless carrier, this tablet does feature built-in 4G.
Other specs and features are a 8.9 hour battery life from a 4080 mAh battery, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, g-sensor, GPS, light sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB C port.
It’s light enough at 310 grams, and has a thickness of about 8.5mm.
Apart from the premium alternative from Samsung, there are three other alternative 8-inch tablets above and below the Alcatel Joy Tab 2 in price right now.
